Sarja Software

Operating systems, engineered from the ground up.

Sarja Software is the software engineering division of Sarja Technologies. Its flagship is Iron Linux — a lightweight, Debian-based operating system with its own Wayland desktop.

How we engineer.

  • Small, coherent stacks

Iron Linux ships a short list of native Wayland components instead of a bundled desktop environment — every package has a written reason in docs/PACKAGES.md.

  • Debian underneath

The kernel, firmware, apt and dpkg come unmodified from Debian. Iron adds an identity and a curated desktop; it does not fork the ecosystem.

  • Honest about testing

What was tested, in what environment, and what was not — written down next to every release, so a QEMU result is never read as a hardware result.
